Think about what you saw in each commercial. All of the commercials want you to buy a certain product but none of them actually tell you what could potentially be wrong about the product. Moon Shoes caused a lot of injuries to kids, Pepsi contains caffeine and sugar that are bad for kids' health, and Easy Bake Oven could cause burns and is not as "easy" as the commercial says.
What about this commercial?
Watch this commercial below that was made in the 1970's. This was a cartoon commercial advertising cigarettes. Knowing what you know about cigarettes, what information did this commercial give? What did it leave out?
Most importantly, why do you think the advertisers did this? What are they trying to do?
